Our Reflection
Amongst the emerald towers,in the midst of the pines, the sun warmed my body;I prespired wines.Billowing clouds, so far off in the distancelingered in the blue.Shades of aquamarine and cornflowertoned the overhead view.Inhaling the pure mistalong with clean air,I breathed in actual relief;refreshment to my despair.Across the meadows, far away, were big globs of sepia rockthat stood tall and proudhoming many a hawk.Under my toes were slender leaves, creeping from beneath me;shooting out in all directions;tickling my knee.In front me, was a pool of delightwith clear water flowing gently.Ripples of jade and sapphiredancing close to silently. The mainstream was still tepid;seeming so tranquil to me.This was true perfectionstaring back at me.I then wonderedwhy I'd seenan image of myselfwithin the gleam.I figure Godwas sending a signto let us knowthat all mankindwill have their day;All are special in some way,so we must do the same for nature. We must lend protection,as it does for each of usby casting our reflection.June 16, 1990
